Hi there and welcome to ‘Memories with Jules’!
My name is Julie Adams and I’m an Authorised Marriage Celebrant within the Commonwealth of Australia and a Justice of the Peace in South Australia.
I love to bring laughter, happiness, peace, unity and inclusion to all I meet. I like to think of myself as a great communicator with empathy and a sense of humour.
I’m happily married to my husband Kym – a second marriage for both of us in 2010. He is my rock and my roadie. We moved to the amazing township of Macclesfield in the Adelaide Hills a few years ago and we can’t imagine living anywhere else. We have the well-known Longview Vineyard just two minutes from our front door and The Winehouse at Langhorne Creek “just down the road a little” and all the wineries at McLaren Vale … too many to list. And, of course, there’s historic Hahndorf. But of course I am happy to travel to your chosen venue.
I retired from full-time work in 2014. I thought it would be wonderful to finally be a lady of leisure. Hmmm … that lasted a few months. Something was missing. I missed interacting with and helping people, so I enrolled with the Academy of Celebrancy under the tuition of Kaye Hartog – the best decision for my working life so far.
I became an Authorised Marriage Celebrant in 2015 and before that time had been privileged to have worked as a Personal/Executive Assistant and Receptionist in education, planning and health within the Public Service, private sector and law firms. I’ve also been a Justice of the Peace since October 2012.
I am young-at-heart and a mother of two adult children from my first marriage, two stepsons, three amazing Grandsons and three Granddaughters. I had the privilege of marrying my youngest stepson to his fiancé in 2017.
I was also asked to conduct a Commitment Ceremony in Talavera, Spain; an incredible experience! The day was amazing – one I’ll never forget. I have since married this adorable couple in Hahndorf.
I love the fact that I can bring people together for happy occasions – Weddings, Commitment Ceremonies, Renewal of Vows, Naming & Welcoming Ceremonies. And for the not so happy, but heartfelt, Funeral Ceremonies, including Pet Funerals.
I have always been a huge supporter of marriage equality. I am so excited that now I can officially marry couples who so deserve to have that equality. My first Same Sex Marriage was in July of 2018. There was laughter, tears and much merriment.
If you’re looking for a fun and fuss-free ceremony, I’m just an email, SMS or phonecall away.
Let’s meet each other at a cafe of your choice, or your place or mine. Whilst websites, phone conversations and emails are a great way to communicate, nothing beats a face-to-face meeting with no obligations at all. Then you’ll get a feel for whether I’m the right celebrant for you both and I get to understand what your plans and wishes are on your special day.
I ensure that your marriage ceremony will be the only one I conduct on your chosen date.
I look forward to hearing from you.
